This gallery features Douglas C-47A Skytrain 43-30652 'Whiskey 7' en route to the D-Day 70th Anniversary commemorations. It is seen here at Prestwick courtesy of handling agents Landmark Aviation and the aircrew themselves on Wednesday 21st May 2014 and its departure on the 23rd May. This aircraft was the lead aircraft of the second wave to drop on the morning of the 6th June 1944 over Normandy. It will drop members of the Liberty Jump Team over the original drop zones. It departed Prestwick for Ramstein AFB.
